First Meeting of the Friends of the Forum

January 30, 2007, the first Meeting of the Friends of the Forum took place in Brussels. Over 100 countries and more than 15 international organizations participated and agreed on the agenda of the Forum, established on the basis of a worldwide survey of their priorities, conducted by the Belgian Government. The establishment of an ad hoc group reflecting on the future of the Forum was also decided.


Second Meeting of the Friends of the Forum

March 27, 2007 the second Meeting of the Friends of the Forum took place in Geneva. Over 100 countries and organizations participated to reflect on the future of the Forum. A progress report on the preparatory process was made. Concept notes on the different roundtable sessions were presented by the preparatory teams. Finally, an initial discussion on the future of the GFMD took place on the basis of the report of the ad hoc group.


Third Meeting of the Friends of the Forum

The third and last meeting of the Friends of the Forum before the July meeting of the Global Forum on Migration and Development will be organized on June 8, 2007 in Geneva.
